COLLEGE!

HA! So I am now officially a college student, and I am LOVING it!  I've had three out of my 5 classes so far, and they have gone great! Looking forward in the syllabus, they don't look very hard either.  Challenging, thought provoking and lots of work, but not hard.

The first classes I had were yesterday.  In Intermediate Algebra, we learned about integers, real numbers, order of operations and stuff like that.  Elementary stuff...like literally!  My sister is doing harder algebra!  However, the professor said it was basically a repeat of Algebra 2, so I should be fine! The only thing I'm worried about is doing my math work in word processor. It takes more than twice as long!

My second class yesterday, English, was interesting.  My professor is a little strange, and he talks like he's from the 1700s! He also has some very strong pet peeves and is very strict.  I think it'll be an okay class though.  I love english!  I found our first reading, on machiavelli, to be very interesting.

My third class, which was today, is Intro to Weather and Climate.  It's basically what I learned in my meteorology class in High School...except it's most likely more in depth and more work.  I love my professor though and I already have a basic grasp of the concepts, so I should be fine in that class too!  However, I'm the only freshman...:/

So that's the lowdown on what I have done so far at college, and I have a lot more to come!  I can't wait until Crown! I have a feeling it will be a lot more challenging to manage my time there, but I can't wait to get away!

Animals...

Animals, animals....They can make life so interesting!  As most of you know, I have 5 cats, and 2 bunnies.  But as of right now, it looks like we only have 4 cats and we now have 4 bunnies.

CATS
So, for three months, Emmett, and Clarabelle have been living up here in Rhinelander, and Shadow, Cloud, and Edward have been living in Rapids.  However, our Rapids house sold so we ended up moving the three cats from Rapids up to Rhinelander the day before yesterday.  The first night, the cats were all fighting so we had to keep Shadow in the bathroom of the camper.  In the middle of the night, Emmett decided to attack one of the cats and a huge fight broke out, scaring Cloudy and making her relieve herself from both ends at the same time.  My mom called my dad to come out to the camper to clean her up, and she ended up getting out and running away.

The next morning, Shadow was cowering behind the camper toilet like he had been all night, so we decided to try and let him outside.  Big mistake.  He then took off and ran into the woods and hid.  We haven't seen him since.

The good news is, last night when I was coming out from the house, I found Cloud sneaking through the garden and we got her back.  The bad news is, there is still no trace of Shadow.  Shadow is my favorite cat and I really hope and pray he comes back soon! He was out in a hail storm today, but he has survived a tornado so I'm not real worried about that.

BUNNIES

So that's what is up with the cats, but here is the new scoop on the bunnies.

My mom left to go pick Haley up from Lake Ellen camp where she had been staying with Becca to go to the fair, and I guess Haley begged my mom to take these two bunnies home.  The person that was in charge of them was going to let them out into the wild, and Haley new that a domestic rabbit wouldn't be able to survive the wild.  So my mom agreed and they came back with two beautiful rabbits.  From what we can tell they are both boys, and we are going to rename them.  One is gray, and the other is black.

Haley built an outdoor rabbit pen a while back and that's where they are staying for the moment.  Supposedly they will only be here for a few days, but we will see.  Haley has been trying to contact the Rhinelander Animal shelter to send them there for someone from Appleton to pick up and foster.

So that is the scoop about my animal situation, and my animals have pretty much consumed my entire day.  I am starting college tomorrow, so my next post should be interesting.  I am really excited!

TODAY

Wow! My last post was just about exactly a year ago. At that point in time, I was starting my first year at a public school.  This year at this time, I am starting my freshman year of college.  I will be taking 5 classes this semester at Nicolet,Technical College in Rhinelander where my family just moved.  I am really excited to start, but even more anxious to head to Crown College in January!

Since I haven't posted in a year, just a quick update.  An overwhelming amount of things have happened over the past year and I have gone through SO much and many trials and tests in my faith.  But, I have only grown stronger and been renewed by my savior Jesus Christ!  The reason I fell away from this blog was because it wasn't safe for me to put anything out on the internet.  However, everything has passed over and I have been able to catch up on life from where I left off.

So, since I have posted, I have made MANY new friends, I have done MANY new things, and so many things have changed.  Instead of going through all of these things, I am just gonna start where I am and go from there!

TODAY 9/2/12

Today was the first Sunday that my new pastor at my new church spoke.  He is such a good speaker, and I am so blessed to be part of this new season at Three Lakes Evangelical Free Church.

Today was also very stressful, because we moved up all of the cats last night.  Since it had been a few months since Emmett had seen the three we brought up, and since Shadow had seen Emmett and Clara, things got a little heated.  We ended up with only three cats for most of the day until one came back, and Shadow is still missing.  I pray that he will come back.

Today I did a whole lotta nothin...I wasn't feeling good.

Today was also a very lonely day.  I miss my friends! I can't wait to start college so I can make some friends.

So yeah, that basically sums up this Sunday, but hopefully I will be back tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day.....etc., except for Mondays. I have 8hrs of classes on Mondays so don't expect me to post! HA!

Public School

As many of you know, I decided to go to public school this year. After 11 years of homeschooling, public school is definitely a very new and interesting experience. There are simple things that don't seem simple to me because I've never experienced them before. Things like opening my locker, getting lunch and getting to my classes on time.

I decided that I wanted to go to public school 3 days before school started. I was planning on going to Lincoln for two or three classes anyway but after thinking about how much time I would be spending at school, I decided going full time wouldn't be much different. So I thought and prayed about it and I felt led to go into school. Over the last couple of months, I've really felt God calling me to get into the community of Wisconsin Rapids. By going to public school, I hope to use the experience to get to know some of the youth in Rapids and reach out to them. Even though I've only been to school two days so far, I've already seen so many kids who look like they need someone.

So far, school is going pretty good! I enjoy all of my classes except for Geometry, and I like all of my teachers. I don't know hardly anyone in the school, but there are a few people who have been really nice and have tried to get to know me. I would say that one of the biggest things I'm worried about in public school is not doing well academically. I'm a perfectionist and I know it will stress me out if my best work is only a B. My goal is to get good grades in everything and if I don't, it's not going to be because I'm lazy it'll be because I don't understand something. I'm nervous about testing too. I've never really had that many tests that I can't take as much time as I want on.

Overall, I'm excited for the year and I know it will be a great year! The biggest thing I'm going to miss about being homeschooled is the YEAH group. I feel like I'm deserting everyone! I definitely don't want to loose those friendships and I don't plan on it. Also, hanging out with my friends during the school day and being able to have sleepovers during the week is going to be a big loss. Also I can no longer sleep in!!!! ahh! Oh well, a regular sleep schedule will be good for me!

First camp is done!

I got back from Riverside Bible Camp today! I was only there for three days for adventure camp, the camp for the 5-7yr olds. There weren't very many campers, but it still went awesome! Since they had a shortage on campers, I served on RSI staff for the camp which was a fairly new experience. Right now I am extremely exhausted! Some of the things I did included a LOT of dish washing, cleaning, playing, supervising and helping with games. The highlights of the camp were chatting with my friends on Saturday afternoon, devotion time (45 scheduled mins with GOD!) A nail party in the bathroom at night, staff meetings, and meeting and getting to know people better! I already miss Becca, Katie, Kristy, Elisia and everyone else! We had a lot of great conversations and got to know each other really well! I'm so excited to go back to camp in a little over a week and see everyone again! Not everyone will be there but almost everyone will!

I also got to meet some cousins I had never met before and they were pretty cool! It's funny how we both have the same family and we've never met! I wish they were my 1st cousins.

When I got home, I turned on my phone and saw a message from my youth pastor Steve about needing help with the Neighborhood table! So I pretty much jumped right back into my car and drove to go help before I had dance. It was so awesome to see everyone again! I didn't know how much I missed everyone until I actually saw them! I love my CGs family!

After the Neighborhood Table, I went to dance and was so excited to take class! I went there thinking that it was going to be the only 1 ballet class that I could take all summer but then I found out I can go the last week! Class was soooo tiring and hard. The class plan was very simple but I was off everywhere especially en pointe....I have never really ever struggled en pointe but today I had a hard time. Especially before I warmed up. I think I'm going to buy a theraband to take to the mission trip and camp with me so that I don't have to worry about my feet completely stiffening up. My arches have gotten way worse since I sprained my ankles last year!

So, now I'm home. I'm exhausted, and I have a bunch of stuff to unpack and carry to my room....I don't feel like it but I told my dad I would clean it up before I went to bed. So I should probably do that. I feel like there is tons of stuff I could have about my last couple days but Its still all sinking in. Oh well I've bored you enough already!

Up North!

Right now I am sitting in our trailer up at the beautiful Stella Lake! This is the first time I have been up here since last year August. Every year, my family and our extended family all come up north for the 4th of July! I have so many great memories from previous years. This year is kind of strange though. The only people that are going to be here for our annual family gathering are me, Haley, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Josh, Matthew, Uncle Tom and Billie! Weird Huh? Anyway, Today is a pretty nice day :) It's warm out but not too hot and me and Haley went swimming. The water was pretty chilly though :/ We really haven't done too much today, but it is nice just to sit and relax! What I really want to do sometime today is go out in either the row boat or the kayaks...preferably the kayaks. I really hope the water in the lake warms up before we come here in August! I can't really think of much to say in this post :( Hopefully I'll have some excitement to write about from this weekend!

My life the past week take 2

Okay so blogger is being dumb and won't let me write any more stuff in my other post so here is a continuation:

So yes we had fun with the webcam! There are a bunch of more pictures but I don't feel like uploading them all.

Another thing that has been fun this week is seeing the Kids from Wisconsin rehearse! They are such a talented group of kids! I am definitely going to see the show when they come to Wisconsin Rapids! They play all live music and they sing and dance to it! It's definitely a REAL show! They are doing some really neat things this year so I encourage you to go see one of their shows! They are traveling all over the state!

In my free time, I have been reading "When God writes your love story" By: Eric and Leslie Ludy. It has been such an eye opener and even though I had already decided not to "date", My stances on relationships have changed a little bit even since reading the book! Instead of saying 'I don't date' or saying I'm going to 'court', I'm just going to give God the pen to my life (more like give BACK the pen...it was never mine to begin with) and trust Him to lead me in all aspects of my life! Whether it is with my love life, future plans or anything else, I'm going to seek God and trust that His will is PERFECT! Because it is! I encourage you, if you haven't already, to check out Eric and Leslie Ludy! They have written a lot of good books and are involved in some amazing ministries!

While there is so much more I could write about this book, I'll save that for when I'm at home and have time to write on my other blog!

I am having a great time but I can't wait to get home and see my kitties and my family. I'm also excited to see Becca and Marybeth at the 4th of July! I've missed them so much!
