Up North!

Right now I am sitting in our trailer up at the beautiful Stella Lake! This is the first time I have been up here since last year August. Every year, my family and our extended family all come up north for the 4th of July! I have so many great memories from previous years. This year is kind of strange though. The only people that are going to be here for our annual family gathering are me, Haley, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Josh, Matthew, Uncle Tom and Billie! Weird Huh? Anyway, Today is a pretty nice day :) It's warm out but not too hot and me and Haley went swimming. The water was pretty chilly though :/ We really haven't done too much today, but it is nice just to sit and relax! What I really want to do sometime today is go out in either the row boat or the kayaks...preferably the kayaks. I really hope the water in the lake warms up before we come here in August! I can't really think of much to say in this post :( Hopefully I'll have some excitement to write about from this weekend!

My life the past week take 2

Okay so blogger is being dumb and won't let me write any more stuff in my other post so here is a continuation:

So yes we had fun with the webcam! There are a bunch of more pictures but I don't feel like uploading them all.

Another thing that has been fun this week is seeing the Kids from Wisconsin rehearse! They are such a talented group of kids! I am definitely going to see the show when they come to Wisconsin Rapids! They play all live music and they sing and dance to it! It's definitely a REAL show! They are doing some really neat things this year so I encourage you to go see one of their shows! They are traveling all over the state!

In my free time, I have been reading "When God writes your love story" By: Eric and Leslie Ludy. It has been such an eye opener and even though I had already decided not to "date", My stances on relationships have changed a little bit even since reading the book! Instead of saying 'I don't date' or saying I'm going to 'court', I'm just going to give God the pen to my life (more like give BACK the pen...it was never mine to begin with) and trust Him to lead me in all aspects of my life! Whether it is with my love life, future plans or anything else, I'm going to seek God and trust that His will is PERFECT! Because it is! I encourage you, if you haven't already, to check out Eric and Leslie Ludy! They have written a lot of good books and are involved in some amazing ministries!

While there is so much more I could write about this book, I'll save that for when I'm at home and have time to write on my other blog!

I am having a great time but I can't wait to get home and see my kitties and my family. I'm also excited to see Becca and Marybeth at the 4th of July! I've missed them so much!

My life the past week

This week has been quite fun! Bits of it were hard and not very fun, but the good times out way the bad :) I am in Milwaukee babysitting for Jessica as she works as main choreographer at Kids from Wisconsin.

This week I have learned what it's like to be a parent. To take care of kids, you have to be able to make decisions and stick with them, be selfless, and you have to be able to say no. The last one is probably the hardest. It is very hard to not give in and give a child what they want when they are throwing a fit because they want something. Another necessary thing that is sometimes hard, is following through with a discipline. If you want a kid to take you seriously when you say your going to take something away, or give them a time out, you have to follow through with it! If you don't, do you think 'counting to 3' or threatening to take something away is going to work? haha nope it's not!

This week has been very fun! I would say these kids are way more behaved than misbehaved! Some of the things we have been doing are playing game, barbies (poor brock is a good sport), making a marble track, watching movies, reading books, coloring and watching tv on the couches. Another thing we did is take webcam pictures! here are a couple:

Rain Go Away

Today is a dull. gloomy. cold. rainy day. Today was supposed to be the day of my youth groups trip to Noahs Ark Waterpark but we had to cancel because it was too cold and rainy. Today hasn't necessarily been a bad day though. Steve and Steph invited us over for pancakes and the movie "Tangled" today and that was fun :) Then Billie and I went to Perkins for pie. I'm gonna miss Billie a lot when I'm in Milwaukee babysitting and when I'm at camp!

This day has also been good because I've had time to read a lot of stuff like Set-Apart girl magazine and Bob Kauflin's blog at Worship Matters. It's also been good because I actually have time to blog, play guitar and think about a lot of stuff! Sometimes I have to try really hard to see the positive in days like this.

In honor of the rainy day, here are a few of the many verses that talk about rain:

Psalms 72:6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

Psalm 147:8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

Psalm 68:9 You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.

Hebrews 6:7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.

So, there are some verses that mention rain!

Haley's 14!

WOW! My little sis turns 14 today. Now THAT is crazy!!! Happy Birthday, Haley!

Right now the thing in my life that is occupying a lot of my thoughts is what I'm going to do next fall after I graduate. In case I'm going to college, my dad wants me to try and decide by the end of the summer. I might take the year off and find a job and work for a year, or I might go straight into something. I'm not sure yet. Right now, I'm mostly considering my options and praying about them.

For a while this decision had me extremely stressed out (still does sometimes) but after talking to my youth pastor about it, I have begun to feel a lot better about things. He told me to think of it as figuring out what I'm going to do next fall and not worrying about the next four years or even the rest of my life. If I am trusting God and in prayer about these things, I'm going to end up where God wants me to be no matter what! This is so comforting!

I know God is calling me to do something with Worship Arts in the future but I don't exactly know what yet. I don't know if I'm being called into full time ministry or being called to just serve on a worship team. I also really want to introduce worship dance in the church and start a dance ministry someday. The cool thing is about this is I don't know if any of this is going to happen but I know I'll be content serving God wherever He leads me. Only HE knows what's best for my life.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~Jeremiah 29:11~

That verse is sooo comforting. God has plans to give ME a FUTURE! Exciting! Here are some more verses:

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. ~Proverbs 19:21~

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

~Proverbs 3:5-6~

These next couple of years are going to be exciting! I know it!!

It's been a while....

I haven't posted in almost a month! Instead of going back and listing everything that has happened since I last posted, I am just going to post about what's happening this summer. I have a very tight schedule this summer!

The busyness starts June 15th. That is when I am going to Noah's Ark with CGs. The next day I dance at Lunch by the River and then I get a day off before I go to Milwaukee for 9days. I am going to Milwaukee to babysit for someone while they are working. I get back June 26th, and hopefully I get a few ballet classes in that week before I leave to go up north for the 4th of July!

July 5th, I leave for camp! I will be working as a cabin leader at Riverside Bible Camp for Adventure camp. I am so excited! I have never been able to go to Riverside in the summer before so I am really excited!

I get home from camp July 9th and leave for a mission trip on July 10th. I am going to the Quad Cities with my youth group. We don't know for sure what we will be doing yet but we are getting pumped! This will be the first mission trip I have ever gone on and I am really excited. We are going to be serving there until the 15th and then on the way home we will be stopping at 6 flags! I have never been there and I'm not sure if I am going to like it. I'm not a big fan of theme parks because I get sick on most of the rides!

After I get home, I leave the next day to go back to camp for Junior High camp. I am pretty sure I will be a cabin leader for this camp too. I am really excited! It will be a great opportunity for me to invest in some girls lives and encourage them in their relationships with God!

I have a day off in between Junior High and Senior High camp which I will be attending as a camper. I have never been to summer camp before at Riverside and I'm really excited!
I get back from camp on July 30th and then I think I will take the month of august off to relax! Hopefully mom will still let us invite some friends up north to Stella! Oh and hopefully we can go to Trout Lake!

As you can see I have an extremely busy summer ahead of me so I can't guarantee that I will be consistent with blog posts. I will try to fit them in whenever I can though! I am going to try and keep a journal of things I can write about when I come back!
